Block Print Dresses

A block print dress is a piece patterned by hand, using carved wooden blocks stamped onto natural-fibre cloth — one colour at a time. The technique has been practised in Rajasthan for over 500 years. At Pink City Prints, every indian block print dress is hand-printed in our Jaipur workshop, so no two pieces are exactly the same.

Let the print lead. By day, pair with flat sandals, a basket bag, and softly layered jewellery. By evening, exchange the sandals for a wedge or a heel and reach for a statement earring. Keep accessories simple — the artisan print is the focal point.

Yes — small variations in alignment, dye density, and block placement are the signature of the artisan hand. Two dresses cut from the same length of cloth will never be identical. These charming differences are not flaws to be fixed; they are the proof of the work.

Handwash with a mild detergent in cold water, or use a delicate machine cycle inside out. Always air dry away from direct sun to preserve the print. Iron on the reverse and avoid pressing directly over the printed area. Always check the care label on your specific style.
